Live wedding paintings are a special way to not only remember your big day, but also a way to enhance your actual wedding day. While photography and videography are great ways to capture the memories of a wedding, a live wedding painting captures the mood and feeling of the event in a unique way, and even provides a form of entertainment. When I do wedding paintings, guests are entertained to see the moments unfolding on a canvas before their eyes.
Prior to the wedding day, I will give the client an opportunity to let me know any specific preferences they may have for the painting – they have the choice of having the reception or ceremony painted. Additionally, we will discuss specific elements you would prefer to have included, such as color palette, subject matter, or any other details important to you
On the wedding day, I will arrive at the reception about an hour or so early to set up my easel and paints. My set up is simple, with a stand up easel, jar of brushes, and basket of paints (I like to be careful to be tastefully set up as not to be an eye-sore!). I begin by laying out a loose composition before guests arrive. If I paint the ceremony, I will arrive 2-3 hours before to paint the majority before guests arrive, due to the short timeframe of a ceremony.
